A long awaited update

I have not blogged in a very long time, it really is sad. i don't know what happened. Anyway, I didn't blog about how awesome of a time we had a thanksgiving or Christmas, for some reason the camera is always forgotten and the only way I blog usually is if I have pictures to go with it. So, I finally was looking at the pictures that we have and so this is what you get. For Christmas we visited my family in Arizona, we had a wonderful time. We decided that we were going to drive because we are too cheap to pay for plane tickets and we drove all of the way there the first day. Eighteen hours! But we made it and we got to meet my little brothers fiance and she seemed great. Isaac got a little tool belt and real tools for Christmas he was in love. My parents being the awesome people that they are just happened to have some high density foam and so the kids got to use Isaac's real tools to build and paint little bird houses. Isaac was on cloud nine. While we were there David got the awesome idea that we should make a stop in LA on our way back and hit disneyland for a day. It was so much fun. David's sister, who lives in LA, got to join us with her season pass and it was so nice to have an extra pair of hands and someone that knows all the best places to eat and what not. Christmas was awesome!

As for what we are up to now, Claire is working on her very first science project for school and is so excited. She is doing a rock collection and my house has been full of rocks for weeks. Isaac seems to be blossoming into a big boy. The other day at the park he actually played with some other little boys that he didn't know and had a fun time (which if you know Isaac, this is an amazing thing). After trying to potty train Isaac for about a year in total today I finally met my breaking point of waiting and hoping and washing all of his pants and underwear literally everyday for the past six months (I am not kidding everyday, all of them, he hasn't worn diapers in a very long time). I have decided to hopefully press the reset button. We are going to take a break from it completely and then try again right before he turns four. That's not so bad, right? I think that I finally understand why they say potty training boys is so difficult (they just don't care). I think now that we have been doing it for so long he is pretty much fed up with the whole ordeal and so am I. It was so hard to make this decision, it may sound rediculous, but I cried quite a bit about it today. If you know me you know how hard I've worked at this, it wasn't just a partial thing where I let him wear pullups and hoped that he would tell me. I have cleaned up so many potty accidents, you would be amazed. Hopefully next year I will have a blog post of a very happy mommy and a happy and dry little boy.

As for this pregnancy, I feel great. As you can see from the widget on the side I am getting closer to being a mother of three. Sometimes I can't wait for this little boy to join us and other times I am so terrified of having three kids it makes me want to just little this little dude hang out for as long as he likes. I had a doctor's appointment the other day and everything is looking good so far, he is head down and hopefully he will come at the best time while my mom his here and David is home and can take me to the hospital. We shall see.

Glad you had a good Christmas. Toilet training isn't easy for most kids. There are always those few exceptions. We look forward to hearing about your new arrival in about a month.

I'm feeling nervous for you! I'm just getting the hang of having two. You look great by the way and hopefully Isaac will sometime just surprise you and tell you that he needs to go! :P

Where in AZ. does your family live? I'm in Gilbert. Three's not as bad as you think it will be! Every new baby comes with the adjusting period anyway!

Don't get discourage with potty training Isaac - after battling nonstop with Cole I took a 6 month break and then went at it again. I too went straight to underwear - no pull -ups. The second time around he was more prepared and I was not wanting to rip my hair out. A break is sometimes needed. Good luck with the arrival of that new baby. I am so excited for you and Dave. Hope all is well.
