A Fancy Bed

One time when I was a little girl I was playing at my best friend's house and we ended up at this old women's house. I don't even know who she was to my friend, but for some reason we were visiting her. Anyway, we didn't stay very long, but that visit has always stayed in my memory. I remember we went into her room and she had a very fancy bed and for me it was love at first sight. It was so tall that she had a little ladder to get into it and it had silky looking pillows all over it. I'm not quite sure if it really was that tall or that the old women just was so old that she needed a little ladder. But that doesn't really matter. From that time on I have had a secret dream to have a tall fancy bed. When we were first married; my husbands parents gave us a full sized mattress that they had hanging around. It will always hold a special place in my heart and I am extremely grateful for it. I have to admit however it was not very tall nor was it at all fancy. But now one of my dreams has come true. A while back we got a free california king sized bed just in the nick of time; considering our much loved full sized bed was pretty much like sleeping on the box spring underneath it. After we got it I loved all the space and my husband loved all the leg room. But it was driving me crazy that because all of our pillows were twin sized, David had a pillow on his side of the bed, we had our in between pillow, and then I had my pillow. Finally, I decided that this bed was tall enough and that I was going to fullfill one of my dreams and make it fancy. Anyway, here it is I made the bedskirt and four of the pillows? And can you believe it? My wonderful husband made me a headboard. He bought the wood, borrowed a saw, and drilled, cut, sanded, stained, and finished it this last weekend. I am so happy with how it all came together. What do you think?
