Camping Trip

The Friday before Easter we decided that we would go on a short camping trip with some friends that also have a little girl and boy. Of course, I forgot my camera so this is just a picture of the kids and their new sleeping bags, but the camping trip was a big success. We left about 5:30pm on friday night and drove about a half hour away to our camp site on the little mountain by where we live. I was a amazed it was like a completely different world, but was so close. We arrived at our campsite and set up our little tents and squezzed four sleeping bags in. Then the men and kids started the fire and we ate hotdogs, smores, foil dinners and peach cobbler. I love camping type food! Then we went to bed; Claire was so funny she was so excited to sleep in a tent in her new sleeping bag she asked to go to bed and then Isaac fell asleep sitting by the fire not much later than that. We were toasty warm since we were all squished in our little tent and we woke up and had breakfast, packed up and hiked probably a total of a quarter of a mile and saw a bunch of cool rock formations to climb on and stuff. Then we had lunch and headed home. We were only out camping for a total of 15 or so hours after packing for about three, but is sure was fun. We hope to go camping a lot more this summer.

That sounds like such a nice little weekend trip. If you guys are going to be camping more though you should probably replace your little tent. It might be worth taking a look at Sportsman's Guide's camping section and look for one. I pick up most of my stuff from them because its marked cheaper then most other dealers and they usually have some sale or another going on so you can really find yourself a deal once in a while. I hope you can use this information to your advantage. Good luck and happy camping!
